‘Big Society’ housing

Future of London hosted the latest in its Breakfast Seminar series on 19 October, examining the role that community-led housing might play in the future development of London, in the context of the Comprehensive Spending Review launched that day, and the Coalition Government’s vision for the Big Society.

The session began with a debate led by David Lunts (Director of London HCA) and Philippe Castaing (Chair of Brixton Green) over the specific role that Community-led Housing can play in the development of areas of London, followed by a closer look at schemes being devised and developed at Brixton Green in LB Lambeth and Hackbridge in LB Sutton. Panel contributions were also provided by Simon Latham (LB Sutton), Dinah Roake (HCA) and Stephen Hill (C20 Future Planners).
