On 22nd October, Future of London took part in the Place West London conference at Kensington Olympia. PWL is an annual event focussed on economic development and regeneration in West London which aims to promote area growth and prosperity.
As part of the networking sessions, our Future London Leaders programme was featured in a Regeneration Showcase highlighting best practice, and we got a chance to talk with people from member boroughs Ealing, Hounslow, Harrow and Brent about local priorities and how we can help.
We also hosted a roundtable on strategic partnerships, which attracted a lively discussion on the benefits of different types of partnerships and the improvements they can deliver in terms of efficiency and better outcomes. More information on strategic partnerships can be found in our recent report, “Doing More with Less: How London boroughs are using new powers to navigate budget straits and deliver local services” (PDF).
Below are some results from the practitioner survey carried out for the report, showing what types of partnerships are being considered and how optimistic respondents were about their chances of success in delivering better outcomes and better efficiencies (click to expand).
