Has there ever been a more interesting time to work in cities?
There has rarely been as much consensus across the sector about the need to build more homes. Yet, conversely, as little consensus about how we should be building them.
These were the thoughts of Andrew Beharrell, Senior Partner, Partner Pollard Thomas Edwards, addressing a gathering of Future of London’s alumni and mentors this week at their summer networking event.
Kindly hosted by Pollard Thomas Edwards at their canal-side offices at DieSpeker Wharf, the event was a chance to bring our growing Alumni and Mentor Networks together to catch up on life after completing their Leaders courses and to share perspectives on the future direction of the capital.
Future of London Alumni Rep, Blossom Young (Head of Operations, Poplar HARCA) provided an update on the Alumni Network which is due to reach the 400 mark later this year.
The Network is a platform for learning, socialising, connecting and career progression.
Our four Alumni Reps coordinate tailored events and work with Future of London to share exclusive job opportunities and news through a monthly bulletin and closed LinkedIn group.
Senior mentors are carefully matched with candidates to work with them throughout their course and many maintain a relationship beyond. Now a network of over 200 experienced professionals, our mentors provide a ‘safe space’ sounding board and share invaluable experience and insights from their own careers with the candidates.
