Future of London is London’s most dynamic built environment network. We connect 60 influential member organisations (with two-thirds from the public sector) and reach a network of 5,000 built environment professionals.

As a not-for-profit, we partner with funding partners such as Arup, Related Argent and Trowers & Hamlins to deliver insight-driven research projects and keep events free of charge.

Funding partners actively help to shape our network and knowledge activities. You’ll be invited to join the steering group for major projects where you will meet decision-makers and future leaders in a buzzing, friendly environment.

Knowledge – new research for 2026/27

Sustaining quality placemaking in challenging times

London’s built environment faces soaring costs, stretched resources, and growing inequality – stalling development and risking poor-quality places. Where are the innovative, systems-based solutions that show viable, quality places are still possible? We’re looking for partners to help us develop new ways to deliver thriving neighbourhoods.

From data to decisions: building confidence in digital adoption

Digital tools are already transforming the way London plans, builds, and manages places – driving efficiency and smarter decision-making. Yet adoption is uneven, with barriers from cost to privacy concerns. Join us to create a practical space for urban practitioners to grasp digital innovation with confidence so they can shape better places.

Procuring better: unlocking creativity, trust and value

Procurement is a barrier to high-quality development – often too complex, risk-averse and cost-driven. It slows delivery, stifles innovation, and erodes trust. With new regulations in place, this project explores smarter clienting and quality-focused approaches to procurement. Help us unlock faster, more innovative ways to deliver real value for communities.
