Stephen leads the knowledge work at Future of London, which collaboratively explores the current and emerging issues in regeneration, housing, local economy and infrastructure. With the Knowledge team, he produces practical guidance to help urban practitioners navigate the fast pace of change in London.
He has spent his career working at the intersection of the built environment and sustainability sectors, helping to lead innovative activities in the UK and globally. Recently he was CEO at Resilience Brokers where he led and contributed to transformative projects in the UK and globally. Topics included place-based data and technology, resilience, nature-based solutions, finance, housing/retrofit, circular economy, health and wellbeing, creativity and art and net zero.
Before that, Stephen led the Housing and Innovation programme at the Energy Saving Trust, working on housing retrofit, sustainable buildings and smart metering. He is a visiting lecturer at UCL in resilient infrastructure, a London National Park City ranger and was selected as one of 50 rising sustainability stars by the UKs building magazine.
