Housing Programmes Director

020 7253 6758

Visakha has worked with and for Future of London for close to a decade. In her current role, she leads projects that directly assist the London boroughs in delivering more and better new affordable homes. She draws on her career of three decades working in the housing and construction sector, which includes work in the public and private sectors.

Before joining the Future of London staff team, Visakha worked as a consultant for both public and private clients. She provided services to support new business in development, construction and meanwhile uses, as well doing research projects into skills gaps and collaborative solutions. She co-produced the research and business planning reports for the Housing Development Academy, a London Housing Directors Group (LHDG) initiative.

Prior to her activities as a consultant, Visakha had a career in London local authorities, working first for LB Newham and then for LB Islington. This included time spent working in a variety of housing roles, capital programming and corporate regeneration. For many years she worked closely with housing associations to programme new developments in these boroughs and later, she moved to the Housing Corporation to do this on a London wide basis.

Visakha believes in giving development staff in local authorities the tools to build a new generation of council housing that will continue to be good places to live for decades to come.
