Head of Leadership & Deputy Chief Executive
Nicola joined Future of London in March 2017 as Head of Networks and moved to become Head of Leadership in March 2018. Her role is to guide the quality and growth of our professional development offer and act as ‘senior connector’ for speakers, mentors, members and partners; she also serves as Deputy Chief Executive, working with the CEO, board and business manager on strategy and external affairs.
Previously, Nicola was Head of Cities Programme at Design Council Cabe, leading the design support offer and helping clients to achieve well-designed places. She oversaw the delivery of Design Review, training and expert advice for public-, private- and voluntary-sector clients. She also led the development of Cabe’s Inclusive Environments programme, supporting built environment professionals to deliver inclusive buildings and spaces.
Before Cabe merged with the Design Council, Nicola worked in the CABE Space team. She managed and developed national toolkits and best practice guidance to support local authorities, communities and other public sector organisations in the planning, design and management of the public realm. This included climate change adaptation and community engagement.
Before joining CABE, Nicola worked for Groundwork, managing community participation projects on inner city estates in London.
