From 26-30 October 2020 Future of London will be running an event series exploring how London’s Built Environment sector is achieving its Net Zero ambition.
Our major 2020 programme, Achieving Net Zero, examines how housing, regeneration, infrastructure and economic development will have to adapt in order to deliver the net zero targets set by 26 London boroughs and the GLA. Meeting these targets will be a cross-sector, cross-discipline effort - and the range of speakers we have lined up for our digital conference week reflects the breadth of this challenge.
From behaviour change through to the financial cost of Net Zero, join us in October for a week of practical insight, inspiration and debate.
Ideas for the future: The digital conference week kicks off with a welcome from the Future of London team, and we’ll also get your imaginations firing with some stimulating Net Zero ideas for the Future, from our Future London Leaders and Leaders Plus alumni.
Climate change needs behaviour change: We all know that to tackle climate change we'll need to adapt our behaviour, but how? We will be unpicking this tricky question in a morning webinar discussion: What can councils, communities, contractors & consultants do to embed holistic Net Zero thinking and behaviours?
Funding net zero: To address climate change, investments need to be made. On Wednesday afternoon we’ll hear from a public- and private-sector panel, and we'll be asking: What is the cost of action? And what is the cost of inaction?
Towards solutions: FoL will be hosting an online workshop and networking session where we will open the debate up and explore some of the major themes that have come up over the course of the conference and wider Achieving Net Zero programme.
Catch-up opportunity: FoL will release all conference content plus our other Achieving Net Zero content on our YouTube channel - so if you have missed any sessions you'll still have the chance to catch-up!
More details and speakers to be announced soon.
The digital conference week is free to attend thanks to our supporters Arup, Landsec, Montagu Evans and Pollard Thomas Edwards.
