London PRS Forum – Licensing

Licensing is a useful tool for improving the condition of private rented properties. It can ensure tenants have safe, secure homes and provide landlords with support and a 'stamp of approval' from the local authority. However licence conditions, landlord fees, where the money is spent varies widely from borough to borough making it unpopular with many landlords. This session will explore different approaches to licensing and share tips for making borough license schemes more robust and responsive to local needs.

This event is primarily aimed at private housing teams and environmental health officers from London boroughs, but is also relevant to trading standards and tenancy relations officers. Participants will be invited to ask questions during the session and should leave with new approaches and fresh ideas for their licensing schemes.

Online workshop with short presentations from guest speakers, followed by an interactive discussion with small breakout groups discussing borough and team perspectives.
