Inclusive code of conduct for Future of London events

Future of London values diversity of thought. We believe that different perspectives bring creativity and challenge to the big urban issues we are tackling as a profession.

We also recognise that industry events can make some people feel unwelcome, uncomfortable or unable to contribute equally. We strive to ensure all our events are accessible and inclusive so that everyone gets the best from their time with us.

As part of this approach, we ask all event delegates, speakers, volunteers and participants to agree to a code of conduct. The objective is that everyone:

  • Is intentionally considerate, collaborative, and respectful – we are all responsible for creating an individual and collective experience that values everyone equally
  • Refrains from discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech – if a participant engages in such behaviour, the Future of London team will take any action we deem appropriate, including warning the offender or removing them the conference

If you witness or experience any unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns, please inform a member of the event team as soon as possible. All reports will remain confidential.

Future of London champions equality, diversity and inclusion in all our activities. We are always learning and we might not always get it right. If you have any comments, or suggestions to improve our approach, or for making our stance clearer then please get in contact us at events@futureorlondon.org.uk.
