Future of London invites you to the launch of the Homes for the Future report, which summarises our 2025 major programme. Drawing on 18 months of research, events, and sector engagement, the programme explores the types of homes and places Londoners will need to thrive in the decades ahead.
Join us for a discussion of the report’s key findings and the practical actions required to balance delivery numbers with affordability, sustainability, safety, and long-term value, featuring contributions from leading voices across the housing sector.
What we will explore
The event will examine the homes and neighbourhoods London will need in the future, and the actions the sector must take to deliver quality at scale. The discussion will focus on five core themes:
- Relevance – matching housing supply to genuine demographic needs while anticipating changing lifestyles and patterns of living
- Sustainability – designing homes and neighbourhoods that actively respond to climate change and support long-term resilience
- Safety – learning from past housing failures to prioritise resident protection, trust, and wellbeing
- Equity – ensuring access to good-quality homes and places for people of all incomes, ethnicities, and backgrounds
- Sociability – exploring housing models that foster social connection, participation, and community through design
