Rethinking Community Engagement launch

Join us on 30 June 2022 for an online panel launching our Rethinking Community Engagement programme.

We'll be asking community organisations and built environment practitioners why now is the time to rethink the sector's approach to community engagement.

Our expert speakers include:

  • Palma Black, Independent Community/Resident Engagement Consultant
  • Amy Beasley, Service Manager (Place Planning), Stockport Council
  • Kate Batchelor, Head of Landscape & Placemaking, Peabody
  • Eileen Conn, Activist, Peckham Vision
  • Santiago Peluffo Soneyra, Co-Director, Latin Elephant
  • Michaela Packer, Associate Director, Arup
  • Sion Lee, Just Space,

Our panel will reflect on how and when communities are invited to input into the consultation process, what good practice looks like when it comes to engaging, the importance of capacity building, and what it takes to resource a meaningful engagement programme.

Together, we hope to reach a better understanding of why consultaton often fails, and what we as a sector can do to address this, particularly given that hybrid engagement methods are clearly here to stay.

Creating a better London for the people who live here is at the heart of what the built environment sector does, so this webinar is suitable for those involved in housing, regeneration, plannning and infrastructure, as well as those whose work focuses on engagement and consultation.

When: Thursday 30 June 2022, 9am to 10:15am
