Dr Miriam Burke has been working in community development for over 15 years; she holds a PhD in community engagement with climate change through creative practice. London Development Trust consults on, delivers and manages community development on regeneration sites, operating community programmes and community centres across five London Boroughs in partnership with local residents, housing associations, local authorities and developers. As COO, Miriam oversees the project delivery and facilities management of community spaces. Strategically, she develops and analyses replicable and scalable methods to measure impact which deliver consistent, meaningful community programmes, co-created with local people. She is particularly fascinated by scale: in particular the ‘gap’ between top-down policy and bottom up grassroots delivery organisations. LDT is one of the few organisations that act as an intermediary operator, able to speak to policy through their research and consultancy experience as well as doing the hands-on delivery of community programmes.
