With London reaching 40C temperatures, the impact of climate change on cities is an urgent priority. Our conference on climate resilience explores ways to manage the effects of extreme weather.
Climate resilience and equity is the theme of our annual conference on 8 October in central London, with a focus on managing the effects of extreme weather.
We will look at the challenges ranging from inclusive finance to encouraging the behaviour change that is needed to succeed. Unless we act now, extreme weather events will exacerbate inequalities in the city.
“As city temperatures soar, we urgently need to develop climate resilience in London ,” says Nicola Mathers, Chief Executive of Future of London. “Our conference will focus on practical solutions while ensuring all communities are treated fairly as we adapt to climate change.”
Confirmed speakers include Indy Johar of Dark Matter Labs. Indy trained as an architect and has become a well-respected practitioner on sustainability and inclusive local economies. He was a “good growth” advisor to the Mayor of London and founded Dark Matter Labs.
Our conference focuses particularly on heating and cooling of cities as an urgent public policy challenge for local authorities and their partners.
